Prepare for Glory: ATR’s Static Monsters Training Program
Welcome back to another thrilling year of Static Monsters here at Above the Rest Training Systems! After a fantastic competition last year, we’re gearing up to host it again, and I couldn't be more excited. This year, we're bringing even more to the table, including a special training program I’ve personally developed to help you shine at the event.
What Is Static Monsters?
Static Monsters is an international strongman competition that challenges athletes across the globe. It’s unique because it allows competitors to participate from local venues and compares their scores on a global leaderboard. The competition focuses on two traditional strongman lifts: the log lift and the axle deadlift.
How Does the Competition Work?
During the competition, each athlete has three attempts at each lift to log their best scores. These scores are then combined to rank athletes against others worldwide. It’s a thrilling event that tests both your strength and technique under pressure.
Returning: Farmer’s Hold for Time
Along with the classic events, we’re including the Farmer’s Hold for Time again this year. This gripping challenge not only tests your endurance and grip strength but also gives our competition a United States Strongman (USS) sanction, allowing eligible athletes to qualify for the USS Nationals in 2025.
Introducing the 16-Week Training Program
To help you reach your peak potential, I’ve designed a 16-week training program specifically for Static Monsters. Here’s what makes this program perfect for your preparation:
Length and Structure: The program lasts 16 weeks, divided into four distinct blocks. Each block builds on the last, strategically peaking your abilities for the competition.
Weekly Schedule: You’ll train four days a week. This schedule balances intensity and recovery perfectly, ensuring you’re always building strength without burning out.
Specialized Training: While the program prepares you for the log lift and axle deadlift, it also focuses on peaking your performance in the Farmer’s Hold, thanks to specific training protocols we include.
Personalized Assistance: Not only did I create this program, but I’ll also be available to guide you through it, helping you adjust the workouts to your needs and ensuring you’re on track.

The competition is set for October 26th. To make sure you’re fully prepared, you’ll need to start the program at least 16 weeks prior. Once you sign up, I’ll help you schedule it correctly to ensure you’re starting on time. July 7th marks the first week of training. Make sure you’re signed up by then!
